Lori is wife to Karl Hermann and mother to three young daughters. She grew up in southern Pennsylvania, and in 1987 graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pa.

After college she got a job at Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Sparrows Point, Md., as a Quality Engineer in the QA department. During this time of employment she also attended the University of Baltimore and graduated in 1995 with a Master’s of Business Administration.

Lori and her husband (at the time also an employee of Bethlehem Steel) married in 1993. Upon the arrival of their first child, she left the workforce to be a full-time mother. In 1998, she relocated to Fort Wayne, Ind., when her husband changed jobs.
